Principal's Corner

Dear Curington Families,

Welcome back to a new school year! I hope you all had a wonderful Summer and are feeling rested and ready for another amazing year at CES.
.
As we begin this new school year, I am filled with hope and excitement. Our incredible teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare classrooms and lessons that will inspire creativity, curiosity, and connection. Whether your child is returning or joining us for the first time, we can’t wait to see the learning, friendships, and joyful moments unfold.

This newsletter contains all the important information you will need for a successful start to the school year. We are very excited to be welcoming back our students and thank you for trusting us with your children. We are honored to be part of their journey.

Warm regards,

Road Closures

If you’ve been out and about this summer, you’ve probably spotted the construction on Adler Road. Keep an eye out for detailed updates next week so you can plan a stress-free drop-off on the first day of school!

First Day of School

First Day of School
We are excited to welcome our Cougars on August 11th for the start of the school year. As always, the doors will open at 7am for those students who would like to eat breakfast. Only parents of students in PK and Kinder will be permitted to enter the building and walk their child to class. For this event only, you will not be required to Pre-check/Check in. For those of you wishing to walk your child to class on the first day, you will have to wait until 8am. We appreciate your patience. Students in PK and Kinder entering before 8am, will have to do so without their parent. Please do not worry; we will ensure they arrive to class safely.

Kinder Camp

To help us create the best possible classroom environments, we’re taking a slightly different approach at the start of the school year. During Meet the Teacher, each kindergarten student will be assigned a lead teacher. This teacher will serve as your primary point of contact for the first three days of school. Please note: this may not be your child’s teacher for the remainder of the year.

Throughout those first three days, students will rotate through all three kindergarten classrooms in small groups, engaging in a variety of fun and meaningful back-to-school activities. This will allow our team to get to know each child in different settings and see how they interact with a range of peers.

On Thursday afternoon, our kindergarten team will meet to thoughtfully build class rosters. Then, on Friday morning, we’ll host a special Class Reveal Ceremony, where students will find out their permanent teacher and class placement for the year. Parents are invited to attend this exciting event!

We understand this approach may bring up some questions or concerns. Our goal is to create well-balanced classrooms where every child is set up to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

If you have any questions or would like to talk more about Kinder Camp, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mr. Joannou.

We can’t wait to welcome our newest learners!
